• Write a paper about a topic of your choice within the scope of "Web Science".
• Topic must be substantially different from content I already cover.
• The paper is worth 10% of your grade.
• You will also be giving a 15-minute presentation about your topic the last week of class.
• The presentation is worth 5% of your grade.
• No late days may be used for the paper or the presentation.
• Papers are all due on the same day regardless of your presentation slot.
• Presentation slots will be assigned randomly. You may trade slots if you like (but inform me at least one day in advance of the swapped presentation).

• Teach me something about the subject.
• Demonstrate you can research a subject, assimilating and communicating information from multiple sources (not just Wikipedia).
• As with programming, attention to detail and readability counts. Proofread, label sections, provide tables/figures, etc.

• Around 15 minutes including questions (we need to do 3 presentations in 50 minutes).
• Audio/visual aids, demos as appropriate.
• Teach the class something about the subject.
• Your audience is senior-level undergraduates in computer science.
• Presentations will occur on Wed 4/23, Fri 4/25, Fri 5/2, Mon 5/5.
• Attendance at presentations is required (points will be deducted from your presentation score for missing days).
