The following was discussed at the most recent ACM Meeting: Programming practice is starting, it will be Sundays at noon. Attendees are free to stay as long as they want to practice, whether that be until they finish a single practice problem, or for upwards of 3 hours. We will be sending several teams to competitions later in the year. The teams are of 3, and at competition each team will have 1 computer to use. We will be holding a competition October 12. Also, planning needs to begin for the yearly industry trip. If you are interested in attending any specific companies this year, let us know via email or in person. Companies suggested include Valve, Microsoft, Big Fish Games, and others in the Seattle area. The trip will be in the Spring, most likely near Spring Break. This year we have several suggested fundraisers including a Barbecue sale in the courtyard and video game tournaments, but if you have any other suggestions for the club to raise funds contact us. There will be a LAN Party Friday September 20. We will be arriving at 6pm, doors will likely be locked after 8:30, so if you're running later than that you might need to call security to get in. Additionally, water and soda will be available at this and future LAN parties for $1.00 each. There is a 12 hour Game Jam scheduled for the first Saturday in November, the 2nd. It will run from 10am to 10pm. More details as they come. For those who don't know what a Gam Jam is, people will arrive and be given a theme, which may be anything from "misdirection" to "small world" for which they have a limited period of time to program a game entirely from scratch and resources found on the internet. The next day, the games will be judged. People may work alone or in small groups. Homecoming is coming up soon, the theme is Head-frames. Events include: Race to the M: 4 part relay race Monday the 23rd. Meets in the MG parking lot at 4:30 pm Club Royalty Dinner: 7:00 at Casagrandas, Monday the 23rd. King and Queen elections are held. Anybody who wants to make a banner must keep in mind it will be shown at the bed races, and the football game so they have to stand up to the weather. It can also be used at any events throughout the year if desired. They will be judged on creativity and adherence to the theme. PG only. Bed Racing: Friday the 27th. Noon races start, team needs to be there at 10:00am.
